Industrial 2x4 Blog
preliminary introductory writing while I figure out what I am doing
Hi. I'm John Hovorka and this is my Industrial 2x4 blog.
I also have a blog from a few years back, a page on my Metal Snowball web site which is about my music, so you can have a look at that, too. But I haven't added much to in a while.
Some things I like are the bands I have been in, starting with The 2x4's (there were some before that, as far back as Falik Distortion in 1967, but that is a whole other story that I will get to later), and working in the exciting world of industry, like at my job. My initial approach to this is going to be simple, I hope. This is probably going to be either a collection of essays or else like a collection of essays. And photos, then music and videos when I get any good at this. Until something happens. If anything happens. Then I may decide to describe that instead.
Although there may not be anything all that super about any of this, it will probably have an entry that concerns the origins of "Industrial 2x4" in "Smallcity", otherwise known as Buffalo, NY, and the continuation of that into the surveying equipment factory where I worked on the Bridgeport Lathe. And no doubt this blog will include present-day industrial stuff, like the packaging of the products I sell, and why my apartment is a factory. On the music side of things, there is my upcoming John Hovorka solo show in McGolrick Park, Greenpoint Brooklyn for Make Music New York 7-8 PM on Thursday June 21st. So that's another topic. Song writing. Some people wonder why I write songs. But all I want to know is how to write the next one.
Of course if you find this all too promotional of me (I have heard that there are people who will not even look at blogs that contain links to anything where anyone has ever sold anything, btw a faux that I have already paad) you are free to leave at any time. Well, obviously. All I feel bad about so far is the lack of content. Please stand by while I go get some. Oh and one more thing, a question. How much linking do people usually do? Anyhow, I'm gonna hit that publish button now. The Industrial 2x4 blog has begun!
